NAJD (A deluxe limited edition of 3000 copies) - a volume of 240 pages containing 148 photographs, illustrating Humberto da Silveiras vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabias Neolithic, Classical and 19th Century traditional architecture, in the last years of its functional existence prior to modernization. Najd was completed on August 31, 1992.
The prints used for reproduction were made by Georges Fèvre, Pictorial Service, Paris.
The type was set in Caslon, and the reproductions and prints were made in duotone, in a
couché véritable mi-mat, 200 grams, on a 29 x 36 cm format, weighing 4.1 kilos, printed
by GENOUD Enterprise DArts Graphiques. The binding was made by Meyer et Soutter,
Lausanne, Switzerland. The book was designed by ROBERT DELPIRE and the layout prepared by
IDEODIS Creation, Paris.

BEDU (A deluxe
limited edition of 6000 copies) - a volume of 256 pages, containing 176 photographs. Bedu
by Humberto da Silveira is a striking record
of the last true proud Bedouins of Arabia, the heirs to a nomadic way of life that has
persisted in the region for many thousands of years in the worlds harshest
environment, and was now giving way, before his eyes, to the forces of modernization.
